Morocco submited donations to Ebola affected countries

The Kingdom of Morocco has submitted to the World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, the Royal donations for the Republics of Sierra Leone and Liberia, support that comes in the framework of international efforts to stem the spread of the Ebola virus.
Morocco has established cooperation with the countries affected by the Ebola virus, through its links with WHO, told the press Commander Taoufik Skalli, deputy director general operation of Royal Air Morocco (RAM) at delivery of such royal gifts.
These humanitarian aid delivered to the WHO representative in Rabat, Yves Souteyrand are composed of 12 tons of medicine and medical equipment, including 6 tons for Sierra Leone and as for Liberia.
RAM, almost single carrier that works to open up the African countries affected by Ebola, is pleased to contribute to Morocco’s show of solidarity with African countries, he said.
“Obviously, there is always a risk of spreading the disease, but the risks are controlled by the national carrier, RAM,” he assured, adding that the airline has so far carried over 40,000 people from these countries.
In a similar statement, the WHO representative in Morocco said that “Morocco demonstrated exceptional solidarity maintaining air links with the countries affected by the virus.”
Yves reminded, in this regard, the position of the WHO Director General, who praised the Kingdom for his courageous stand and solidarity with African countries affected by Ebola.
The outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever has claimed more than 5,500 deaths out of 15,351 people infected, according to a latest WHO report.
