The Ballon d’Or, the most prestigious award in football.

The 2026 Ballon d’Or was awarded to Harry Kane for the men and Alexia Putellas for the women on Monday, October 26. Disappointment for Kylian Mbappé, who came very close, according to the director of France Football.

The 2026 Ballon d’Or was awarded to Harry Kane for the men and Alexia Putellas for the women. “This year there were several serious contenders. For the two closest, namely Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé, it really came down to very little this year. The points difference between Kane and Mbappé is smaller than that between Rodri and Vinicius in 2024. It was 41 points, and that wasn’t much even then,” explained Vincent Garcia to the L’Equipe channel. The detailed voting results are expected on Saturday.
