Wikileaks: Crook Managed to Build a Mosque and Name it Mohammed VI

The diplomatic cables reveal the history of Saudi Abdelwahed Wajih, a “crook” that the Moroccan authorities have not unmasked.

It’s an incredible story. Diplomatic cables from Saudi Arabia published by Wikileaks reveal a Moroccan passed for his own money aid to build mosques in Morocco he collected in Saudi Arabia. Abdelwahed Wajih, this false benefactor tricked his world for several years.

According to the cables, he managed to convince Moroccan rich equipping mosques built with Saudi money. The man later sold to his advantage the titles of shops built next to mosques.

In a confidential telegram from the Saudi embassy in Morocco to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Abdelwahed Wajih, is described as someone who engages in “swindling and fraud.” The Moroccan authorities seemed to ignore the activities of this individual, he managed to get invited three times to religious Ramadan Lectures before King Mohammed VI.

Abdelwahed Wajih even obtained authorization to grant to certain mosques he built the names of members of the royal family including Prince Moulay El Hassan, Lalla Khadija and King Mohammed VI.
