The Crans Montana Forum celebrates several international personalities

Dakhla – The work of the Crans Montana Forum ended Saturday in Dakhla, with an award from the foundation ceremony of the forum and gold medals for this instance , granted to international personalities from different backgrounds.

Prices for 2015 Foundation were awarded to the former President of the Republic of Estonia (2001-2006), Arnold Ruutel, the former Spanish Prime Minister (2004-2011), José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the Assistant Secretary General of the UN, Philippe Douste Blazy, former French Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Development (2007-2010), Jean Luis Borloo and the President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Senegal, Aminata Tall.

Awarded since 1989, the price of the foundation of the forum unites the great modern actors for peace, freedom and democracy. It thus brings together men and women of outstanding merit from all areas of social responsibility that have in common that they fought for the fundamental values ​​and their commitment for creating a better world.

The gold medals of the Crans Montana Forum were granted to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Douglas Ete, the chairman of the board of the UAE real estate group “Nakheel” Ali Rashid Ahmad Lootah and the President of the Ivorian Movement human rights, Yacouba Doumbia.

For its 20th anniversary, the Forum has awarded its gold medal as accomplished high honor, as recognition of the actions performed by individuals honored for a more humane world.

Speaking on the occasion, President and Co-Founder of the Crans Montana Forum, Jean Paul Carteron, welcomed the resounding success of the edition of Dakhla which brought together eminent personalities from across the globe.

Mr. Carteron recalled that prices of the foundation and forum gold medals were awarded in previous editions of high level personalities, including the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, the Rev. Jesse Jackson or the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

A total of 112 states of the world were represented at high level at the Session of the Crans Montana Forum (CMF), which was held from March 12 to 14 in the city of Dakhla. These are 36 African, 30 Asian, 31 European countries and 15 countries in America, more than 20 regional and international organizations.

In total, 800 participants who found themselves in Dakhla which nearly 600 are from abroad, including heads of state, heads of government, ministers, presidents of parliament and parliamentarians, as well as former heads of state and government, senior international officials and representatives of regional and international structures.

The FCM, organized under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI under the theme “Africa, regional and South-South cooperation”, brought together policy makers, experts and men of African and international affairs to discuss particular issues of development in the continent.
