Franco-Moroccan reconciliation: King Mohammed VI at the Elysee Palace Monday

François Hollande will meet on Monday Moroccan king Mohammed VI, after a period of one year diplomatic row between Paris and Rabat, according to the agenda of the Head of State statement Saturday by the Elysee. The king will be received at the Elysee Palace on Monday in 17 hours.
France and Morocco had decided on January 31 to “turn the page” on nearly a year of estrangement, restoring judicial cooperation and anti-jihadist.

Morocco had suspended in late February 2014 that cooperation with France in the wake of unprecedented bilateral crisis sparked by complaints in France against senior Moroccan officials, including the head of the Moroccan intelligence Abdellatif Hammouchi, followed by a series incidents and diplomatic blunders.

On 1 February, the delivery by the sister of Mohammed VI, Princess Lalla Meryem, during a ceremony at the Arab World Institute (IMA) in Paris, a “royal distinction ‘to religious figures, had marked the warming of relations between the two countries.

Manuel Valls had on this occasion praised the “friendship” between France and Morocco, enjoying a “bond that resists all.”
