The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita, received, on Wednesday in Rabat, the president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, currently on a working visit by two days in Morocco.
This meeting was marked in particular by the presence of the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa.
On his arrival earlier in the day at Rabat-Salé airport, Mr. Infantino had indicated, in a press statement, that several football development projects and programs will be discussed during this visit, relating to particular to young people and women’s football, among others.
This visit is part of the consolidation of the strong existing relations between FIFA and the officials of the FRMF. It also aims to develop cooperation between the two bodies in the promotion of national and continental football.
The elective general assembly of the African Football Confederation (CAF) will be held on March 12 in Rabat.
Tuesday, the president of Fifa began an African tour which led him in particular to Nouakchott (Mauritania), Bangui (RCA), Brazzaville (Congo) and Kinshasa (DRC).
