Partnership with Morocco in terms of security, democratic reforms and migration is among the priorities of the European Union, wrote a report of the EU common foreign and security policy (CFSP), approved on Monday by the foreign ministers of the 28 member states convened in Luxembourg.

“The EU commits to reinforcing its strategic dialogue with Morocco notably in the field of security, democratic reforms and migration in order to overcome recent difficulties and develop the potential of our partnership,” said the report.

“The EU is currently reinforcing its cooperation with countries carrying out political and economic reforms as Morocco,” the report underlined, noting this will be mirrored in a “reinforced political dialogue, an important EU financial assistance (subsidies and loans) and an agreement on our partnership’s priorities, as well as progress in basic fields of action.”

On security, the report said that the Union launched dialogues on counterterrorism with partner countries and proposes, as part of re-examining the European Neighborhood Policy, measures aimed at reinforcing the resilience of partners to face threats in terms of the fight against terrorism, the prevention of radicalization, the support for the sector of security and border management.
