UMF organize a Republican march on Sunday January 11th in all France

Following the outcome of the two hostage this Friday, January 10, 2014 in Paris and Dammartin-en-Goële, France‘s Mosques Union (UMF) wishes to express its solidarity and full support to victims, families of the victims and the injured terrorist attacks that targeted our country in recent days and have killed 17 people among our compatriots.

The UMF joins the tribute paid by the President of the Republic to the forces of order and security of our country who acted with courage to save the lives of the hostages and neutralize the terrorists.

The UMF is also associated with the solemn appeal of the President of the Republic for vigilance, mobilization, fighting against everything that can divide the French and weaken their unity, to remain relentless against racism and anti-Semitism and to reject any equation of Islam with terrorism.

Faced with Islamophobic acts that targeted mosques in France these days, UMF greet messages of support of the public authorities and all the forces of our country and their call to reject any confusion and any escalation.

The UMF, aware that extremism feed on each other, the Muslims of France called for vigilance and serene face of all provocations. The values of peace and solidarity that animate the vast majority of our citizens are and will remain our best defense against all forms of extremism.

The UMF reiterates its appeal to Muslims in France to make the planned massive Republican marches on Sunday January 11th in all cities in France and especially in Paris to show our solidarity and support to the victims and their families, to express our condemnation of barbarism and fanaticism and reaffirming our deep commitment to the values of our republican pact.
