A Moroccan Migrant Died Asphyxiated in Almeria

It was hidden in a suitcase, placed in the trunk of his brother. A Moroccan of 27 years died asphyxiated while trying to illegally enter Spain on a ferry, announced the Spanish Civil Guard, Monday, August 3.

His brother, aged 34, was legally embedded Sunday with a vehicle onboard the ferry that linked Melilla and Almeria in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. He seems to have tried to smuggle his younger brother in Spain, hiding aboard the car, according to a spokesman from the Civil Guard.

During the trip, he discovered that his brother was not breathing and warned the crew. All resuscitation efforts, then on the ferry in the port of Almeria, were unsuccessful. Elder was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
