The Moroccan Government party PJD would have prohibited MP Abdelaziz Aftati to stand for municipal and regional elections on September 4, indicates in its today’s edition Assabah.
The daily argues that Abdelilah Benkirane would have given his instructions to defer consideration of the freeze functions Aftati, decided in early June by the General Secretariat of the Lamp. An internal committee of the party would meet after the elections to decide the penalty to be imposed to the member for having “visited a military zone on the eastern border with Algeria.”
Although, Aftati enjoys popularity in the capital of the Oriental, not occupy any function at the regional section of the PJD. He had been sidelined on the last Congress of PJDistes Oujda, held in late September 2012, chaired by Benkirane.
