Suspicious Death of a Tunisian Activist Houssem Saidi in Algeria
Tunis – A Tunisian journalist, in professional trip to Algeria, died Friday in the Algerian capital in conditions qualified by his family as “suspicious”, said Saturday the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said it had instructed its embassy in Algiers to make contact with the Algerian authorities to open an investigation into the death of blogger Saidi Houssem .
According to preliminary findings of the investigation conducted by the security services, this would be “suicide”, a version that challenge family and friends of this Tunisian activist who is president of the International Students Association of Economics and Commerce.
Tunisian blogger who was in Algeria as part of a journalistic investigation work, “would have been thrown from a bridge” in Algiers, according to local media.
