81 Minor Injuries Becasue of Esplanade Crush of Hassan II Mosque

Casablanca – Some 81 people, mostly women, have sustained minor injuries and fractures while some fainted, due to a stampede occurred on the night of 27 Ramadan in esplanade of Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, said Tuesday the Wilaya of Greater Casablanca.

All the wounded were transferred urgently to the Moulay Youssef hospital to receive the necessary care, said the Wilaya in a statement, specifying having recorded 5 cases of fractures and 4 cases of shoulder injuries, while 6 injured were transferred to the CHU Ibn Rushd.

A pregnant woman suffered a double fracture to the leg and remains under medical supervision, while 73 people just left the hospitalafter , it was added the same source.

Wilaya has likewise refuted the information spread by some websites this scramble calling them wrong.

And explain that a woman, who was making her prayer was frightened by the appearance of a mouse, causing panic among women who started shouting while running and then from the other faithful on the esplanade.

The same source points out that local authorities and the civil protection and security intervened in time to calm the situation and transfer the injured to hospital.
