Polisario Banned MINURSO access to Tindouf

Polisario armed elements have banned on Thursday 30 April, UN peacekeepers helicopter in monitoring mission from landing in Tindouf.

An extremely dangerous military incident occurred on Thursday morning, 30 April, in the alleged second “military zone” Lahmada-Tindouf. “A team of MINURSO, departed from the Hassan 1st airport in Laayoune, was banned by armed elements of the Polisario fom landing in Tindouf,”.

According to the sources, peacekeepers, charged with maintaining peace and monitoring the cease-fire, is seen in “the requirement to produce travel documents, including passports” adding that “this is the first time since the signing of the cease-fire, 15 October 1991, the soldiers of MINURSO are obliged to present such documents.”

Faced with the stubbornness of Polisario elements, peacekeepers were trapped all day in the landing point in Tindouf, unable to even get out of their helicopter. The latest news is that the UN crew returned, late afternoon in Laayoune airport.
 
For precisely this extremely serious incident came a day after the adoption of resolution 2218 by the Security Council. The UN appeal to the sequestered population census and burial of the separatist claim to extend the mandate of MINURSO to the Human Rights Review plunged Algiers and Polisario in total shambles.
