Libyan parties resume their political talks for the third day in Morocco
Skhirate – Inter-Libyan political talks resumed Saturday in Skhirate, near Rabat, for the third consecutive day in the presence of representatives of the warring parties in order to get the Libyan political crisis lasted several months.
The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya, Bernardino Leon announced Friday in Rabat, “advanced” on the two major issues currently on the table of political negotiations namely the formation of a “government of national unity “and” security arrangements “.
“We are moving on the two major issues currently on the table, in this case the government of national unity and security arrangements,” said the UN envoy, during a joint press conference at the end of a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar.
Inter-Libyan political negotiations, which started Thursday take place under the auspices of the United Nations, with the participation of representatives of the warring parties, and in the presence of several foreign ambassadors as an observer.
On Wednesday, the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced the holding in Morocco this round of Libyan political dialogue, after all the invited parties have expressed their agreement to participate in this meeting.
“The parties have formally communicated their decision to take part in this dialogue after close consultation with Bernardino Leon, during his visit to Tobruk and Tripoli March 2, 2015,” had said the MANUL in a statement.
