Nagib Azergui, Franco-Moroccan, founder of the Democratic Union of Muslims of France (UDMF) has announced plans to present a candidate of his party in the French presidential elections in 2017. His candidacy is the buzz.
Some of the party political program headlights points will Promote halal business, Islamic finance “beneficial to the French economy”, challenging the ban on headscarves in school and give voting rights to foreigners in local elections.
The UDMF would aim to “raise the 500 signatures needed to Khalid Majid their first presidential candidate in 2017,” according to the French daily Le Parisien. This party has, at present, 900 members and 8,000 supporters but would have won more than 200 recruits from the beginning of January attacks in France.
